The Ontario Trillium Foundation recently undertook in-depth conversations with nonprofits about the impact of the economic downturn. Challenges and Opportunities in the Economic Crisis is a 22-page report that includes how nonprofits are handling the challenges and suggestions for how OTF can help them. One of those suggestions was to encourage OTF to partner with sector networks and other funders to help leverage the impact of its grants.

VanCity's Community Business Banking non-profit team has designed a booklet called "Cashflow Calisthenics 101" to help nonprofits navigate uncertain financial times.
The US National Council of Nonprofits created a website in order to monitor the effects of economic downturns on nonprofits.
