ONN Receives Trillium Grant
We are delighted to say that ONN has just been awarded a three-year grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to continue its work of supporting the nonprofit sector in Ontario.

OTF is an agency of the Government of Ontario and it allocates grants to eligible charitable and not-for-profit
organizations in the arts and culture, environment, human and social services and sports and recreation sectors.

Peer-to-peer learning helps nonprofits through economic crisis

In the next few months, the London, Ontario-based Pillar Nonprofit Network will be rolling out an innovative peer-to-peer program for Executive Directors. London-area Executive Directors will form discussion circles to explore issues of long-term financial sustainability. ONN talked to Pillar's Executive Director Michelle Baldwin this month about the importance of networking in tough times. Read More»

• New Report Published on the Public Benefit Economy
  ONN Steering Committee member, Lynn Eakin, has released a new report looking at the role of the nonprofit sector in what she calls the "public benefit economy". In it she suggests that the public sector can be an economy in its own right.

  Three Caledon Institute recently papers on the federal budget that are worth reading.
  
• Free furniture and office supplies: Revive  relieves companies of no longer needed assets (furniture, supplies, equipment) and avoids landfill by redistributing those assets to registered charities, non-profits, schools, and health facilities that are in need of additional resources to conduct their work.
